PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Virginia selected Brandt to replace its existing suite of recreational and commercial licensing solutions, harvest reporting, license agent POS solution, product / catalog management, and administrative management tools as well as boat registration and titling systems and other applications managed both in-house and by its previous vendor.

Brandt began the development of a new, customized Go Outdoors Virginia solution in January 2016 and exceeded the compressed design and implementation schedule when the system went live in six months on July 1, 2016. The transition included the migration of data from a variety of vendor-managed and internally managed solutions into a single, central database.

Project Implementation

In addition to the accelerated project implementation timeline, Brandt worked with DWR to navigate:

  • A heavy emphasis on business requirements identification and business process analysis during the design and development phases to finalize and document the new solution’s specifications and functionality needs;
  • A collaborative approach to integrating disparate systems and datasets, and streamlining business processes due to outdated and constraining technologies;
  • The need to replace the DWR’s existing solution while ensuring no interruption in critical business operations, including recreational license sales (Online, License Agent, Lobby, Back Office Service Desk, and Telephone sales channels).

Refer-A-Friend

Inspired by e-commerce referral programs and designed to incentivize existing license holders to refer first-time customers, Brandt implemented a Refer A Friend program for Go Outdoors Virginia. Once logged into a customer account, users may click on “Refer A Friend” to generate a referral code and email the code to friends and family. When the unique code is used at checkout for a first-time license customer, both the referrer and referee may be mailed a gift package. In the first six months, Virginia’s Refer-A-Friend program generated 1,953 unique referral codes. Of those, 388 codes were used, resulting in $22,536.40 in first-time license holder revenue.
